Our Private Cremation Plan

Often, people like the idea of a direct cremation but wish they could see the coffin at the crematorium and have the chance to say goodbye before the cremation.

Our Private Cremation Plan is designed to allow this. It includes a 20 minute service that takes place early in the morning at the crematorium of your choice. Up to 20 people can attend to say goodbye, have a moment of quiet reflection and listen to a piece of music in honour of the deceased before witnessing the committal.

For those who would like to be respectfully cremated but not have any mourners in attendance, we also offer our Unattended Direct Cremation Plan.

Choose How to Pay

With our Private Cremation Plan you can pay in one single payment or over 12 months. Acceptance is guaranteed if you are over 18, and there are no medical questions or upper age limits.

If you are aged between 50 & 74, you can also pay over 5 or 10 years for a lower monthly payment.

Single payment or over 12 months

Acceptance is guaranteed if you're over 18 years old with no upper age limit
Once full payment is made the services in the plan are 100% guaranteed
Money is transferred into the Distinct Funeral Plans Trust, independent of Distinct Cremations
All your money back within 30 days and most of your money back (minus £95 cancellation fee) after 30 days
If you pay over 12 months, you can add a deposit if you wish, and your monthly payments will be reduced accordingly
Payments are fixed over 12 months protecting you from inflation and we do not add fees
- The plan has to be paid in full before the cremation is guaranteed to be covered

Paying for a plan over 5 or 10 years

Acceptance is guaranteed for anyone aged between 50 & 74
Low monthly payments - depending on your age
£95 arrangement fee to be paid up front
Guaranteed to cover the costs in your plan after just 12 months, meaning that if you pass away before you have finished paying, your plan is guaranteed with no further payments required
Payments are fixed for the term protecting you from inflation
Full cover provided for accidental death from day one
Money-back guarantee if you decide to cancel in the first 12 months
- You must continue to make your payments for the full period or to end of life if earlier, otherwise you will lose the benefit
- You will pay more for your plan overall compared to paying with a single payment or spreading the cost over 12 months
- If you cancel after 12 months of the plan start date, you will not receive any money back

"I spent a lot of time reading, researching, and looking at several funeral plan provider websites, but this one stood out for the following reasons:

(1) A well laid out website and very informative and comprehensive literature sent in the post.

(2) Good emphasis on how the funeral scheme is protected by the FCA and easy to trace the FCA registration through to the FCA website to see that it is genuine and without any red flags. Also easy to look up the funeral company and its parent companies at Companies House to see that they are all financially healthy and solvent. I really liked the fact that there is also a link to the funeral scheme's trust accounts on the website - very transparent, which is good [and not many competitors do this].

(3) The application process was very easy to follow and complete. Extremely prompt processing of the application [all set up in 24 hours, even though I chose to post mine] and very courteous and polite staff at customer services when I spoke to them.
