We’re very pleased to be partnered with the National Bereavement Service (NBS) to help provide bereaved families with vital support and resources.
The NBS is a not-for-profit organisation that provides expert guidance to help bereaved people navigate practical, legal, and emotional challenges after a death.
As well as receiving help and guidance following the death of someone close, families can use NBS services for support with their own planning for later life and death.
As part of our partnership, we offer a free NBS telephone bereavement help and support line for every family we look after, whether fulfilling a pre-paid funeral plan or arranging a funeral for a loved one who has died.
Where a family has been identified by the NBS support team, as needing additional support in the form of counselling, we will also make a contribution towards the cost if the family wish to proceed.
We are committed to ensuring families and those close to a person who has died have access to professional, practical and emotional support during one of life’s most challenging times.
“The death of someone close is an incredibly difficult experience, and many people struggle to access the emotional or practical support they need, such as navigating probate and knowing who to notify,” said the NBS’s Lisa Lund.
“By partnering with Distinct Cremations, we’re helping to ensure that families, friends and those arranging the funerals of someone close have access to professional bereavement support at a time when they need it most.
“Grief and bereavement can be isolating and having someone to talk to and free access to practical guidance can make a world of difference.”
As well as providing essential funeral services, it’s important to us that recently bereaved families and friends feel supported throughout their funeral arrangements with Distinct Cremations.
“While planning for a funeral is a practical necessity, the emotional impact of the death of a loved one cannot be overlooked,” says Hugh Longland, Interim Managing Director at Distinct Cremations.
“The partnership with the National Bereavement Service ensures that every family purchasing a funeral plan or funeral from us has access to professional support when the time comes.
“Having the ability to offer families a call back by the NBS team has been wonderful. Our team of dedicated funeral arrangers are proud to be able to offer such great support to those in need; support which now goes far beyond the day of the funeral.”
