Bishopbriggs Crematorium is now open, serving those in the Glasgow area

We’re pleased to announce the opening of our brand-new Bishopbriggs Crematorium.

Located just north of Glasgow, Bishopbriggs Crematorium offers compassionate funeral services to those in the city of Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Facilities at the crematorium

The light and airy chapel provides families with a meaningful place to say a final goodbye.

There is seating for 120 mourners plus additional standing room if required. The chapel is always decorated with floral arrangements and the wide windows let in natural light and provide views of the beautiful grounds.

Loved ones can be remembered with their favourite music via a modern digital music system with state-of-the-art speakers and a comprehensive library of songs.

Two high-resolution screens in the chapel let families keep precious memories close with photo or video tributes.

The scenic crematorium grounds are landscaped throughout the seasons and are surrounded by farmland and the nearby Campsie Hills. Outside the main chapel is a calm, peaceful fountain.

Ashes scattering in the crematorium grounds

There is a dedicated area within the grounds where ashes can be scattered.

All of our funeral services and direct cremations offer the choice to either have the ashes personally returned to the family following the cremation or have the ashes respectfully scattered at the crematorium. Witnessed ashes scattering can also be arranged.

The newest addition to the Westerleigh Group

As part of the Westerleigh Group, we now own and operate 42 crematoriums across mainland Great Britain, making us one of the largest independent owners and operators of crematoria in the UK.

Bishopbriggs is our fourth crematorium to open in Scotland alongside Borders Crematorium, Stirlingshire Crematorium and West Lothian Crematorium.

Built with the environment in mind, Bishopbriggs Crematorium protects the planet with technology to reduce harmful air pollutants, zonal heating, low-energy lighting and electric car charging points in the carpark.

Facilities at the crematorium also include parking, a waiting area, toilets and disabled accessibility including ramps, designated parking, loop system and disabled toilets.

Crematorium Manager Donnie Connor welcomes families

Bishopbriggs Crematorium Manager Donnie Connor said of the new opening,
