Direct Cremation from £895
A direct cremation is a simple and affordable cremation without a ceremony and is an alternative to a traditional funeral. It’s simply a no service funeral that doesn’t have attendees and does away with the fuss of a ceremony. At Distinct Cremations, the direct cremations we provide are simple and affordable. However, a non attendance cremation does not impact the quality, it simply means taking a funeral back to its essentials – a dignified send-off in a high-quality crematorium.
We do offer the option to attend and witness the coffin being committed at a direct cremation. This short early morning 10-minute service allows up to eight mourners to see the coffin in place, say a few words, and have a quiet moment of reflection.

What’s Not Included In A Direct Cremation?
As this is a cremation only funeral, there will be no viewing of the deceased, attendees present, processions, hearses or flowers. Doctors' fees will also incur an additional cost if required.
We offer true transparent pricing. You can find our standardised price list and optional extras here.
At times the law or regulations change that we cannot foresee and we may have to pass these costs on. Direct cremation prices are subject to review by Distinct Cremations. If at the point of application the service price has changed for any reason, we will advise you of this and there will be no obligation for you to continue.
If you would like to plan and pay for your funeral in advance, you could check our prepaid cremation plans. Our Unattended Direct Cremation Plan is suitable for those who would like to have a simple unattended cremation without a funeral.
We’ll keep the deceased dressed in the same clothes they were wearing when they entered our care unless otherwise requested. If you’ve got a specific outfit you’d like them to wear, just let us know and provide it prior to the cremation.
A Direct Cremation is a simple cremation without a funeral service and all the additional expenses such as flowers. However, the family can make arrangements for flowers to be delivered to the crematorium directly should they wish.
An oversized coffin is for individuals who are too big for the average coffin width of 24 inches and 84 inches in length. If the deceased is over 6ft 10 or over 25 stone, then an oversized coffin will be needed.
We have over 36 crematoria spread across England, Scotland and Wales. You can see our full list of crematoria to find your nearest one.
The Doctor’s fees are needed to obtain cremation certificates required to carry out the service. Without them, there can be no cremation.
For a Direct Cremation we provide a simple MDF coffin, and for an attended cremation we provide unvarnished veneered chipboard coffins.
Once you’ve agreed the type of service that you’d like, one of our Customer Service Advisors will take the payment in full, which can be made by credit or debit card.
There are lots of things you can do with the ashes. Many people scatter ashes in a place that was special to the deceased, some keep them in an urn as a keepsake and others have recently started to have ashes turned into jewellery or glass.
With Distinct Cremations, it will take approximately two weeks to arrange the funeral. We will take care of all the arrangements, from the paperwork right through to the hand-delivering you the ashes.
