Funeral Plan Customer - Refer a Friend Terms and Conditions

We have recently changed our gift card provider and have moved to e-gift cards using the GiftPay.co.uk system. For those who have seen a Refer a Friend promotion referencing an M&S gift card, this retailer is still available through GiftPay, along with hundreds more. The below offer Terms and Conditions have been updated to reference our new provider.

  1. “We” or “Us” means Distinct Cremations. Distinct Cremations is a trading style of Distinct Funeral Plans Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Financial Services Register No. 965289. Registered in England No. 13366327. Registered office: Head Office Westerleigh Crematorium, Westerleigh Road, Westerleigh, Bristol, BS37 8QP. Part of the Westerleigh Group. (“the Promotor”).
  2. “Referrer” means a customer who has an active funeral plan with us.
  3. “Recipient” means the person the Referrer has recommended the funeral plan to
  4. The Referrer has to pass on to the Recipient, their unique funeral plan number before the Recipient makes an enquiry about the plan to us.
  5. The Recipient has to quote that unique funeral plan number when they make a new funeral plan enquiry to us.
  6. The new funeral plan enquiry has to be made either by return of the coupon that the Referrer has passed on, or by phone. The enquiry cannot be made on our website.
  7. The Recipient must enquire directly to us about our service, after the Referrer has purchased their plan. The Recipient's funeral plan purchase cannot be made at the same time as the Referrer's plan sale, and the purchase must be made by the Recipient with the Recipient being the Customer and owner of that plan.
  8. The Recipient has to be aged 18 or over to purchase a funeral plan with us.
  9. If the Recipient then purchases a funeral plan with us, we will send a unique link by email to the Referrer and to the Recipient (using the email address we hold on record) to access a £25 e-gift card on the GiftPay website that can be redeemed at numerous merchants.
  10. The e-gift cards will be emailed 90 days after the Recipient’s plan is activated by us following receipt of an application.
  11. No e-gift card will be issued if a Referrer retrospectively contacts us saying they know someone who has already purchased a plan with us and they only did so because of a recommendation by them.
  12. No e-gift cards will be sent if either the Referrer’s or Recipient’s plan is cancelled within 90 days of activation by us.
  13. This promotion can be withdrawn by us, at any time.
  14. The e-gift card has no cash in value, and we cannot take money off the price of a plan as an alternative.
  15. The e-gift card unique link is valid for 3 years, but please be aware that once you have selected a participating merchant's e-gift card on the GiftPay website, how long you've got to spend it will be subject to their own terms and conditions.
  16. We may cancel the e-gift card offer should we discover, or have a reasonable suspicion to believe, that the terms of the e-gift card offer are being abused.
  17. In the unlikely event that we are unable to fulfil your e-gift card offer, we will contact you to let you know and discuss alternatives of an equal value.
  18. The e-gift card offer is not open to employees or contractors of Distinct Cremations or any of its subsidiary companies.
  19. These terms and conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
