Simple attended cremation
You may be more familiar with attended cremations, which include a funeral service.
We partner with trusted funeral directors at 42 crematoriums throughout England, Scotland, and Wales to arrange the funeral for you, including your choice of optional extras such as a hearse or flowers, and details for the service. You can choose the music, readings, and eulogy, led by family or a celebrant as you prefer.
Unattended direct cremation
A direct cremation, also called an unattended cremation, takes place without a service or any family members present.
Our caring team supports you with all the arrangements. We use our own private facilities to provide a dignified, compassionate send-off. This choice allows the family to hold a separate memorial or celebration of life when they are ready and in a style and place that may feel more personal to their loved one than a formal service.

We are part of the Westerleigh Group, the UK's largest independent cremation provider, with 42 crematoriums across the UK - which gives us the flexibility to offer affordable cremations and the experience to ensure each one is carried out with dignity and compassion.

What happens after the cremation?
Unattended cremations remove the expense of processions, limousines, flowers, and other extras associated with a traditional funeral. Instead, family may choose to hold a gathering at a later date, when they can celebrate the life of their loved one in a manner and place that feels more personal.
Whether attended or direct, after the cremation, the ashes can be returned to the family within 14 days or scattered within the gardens of the crematorium. Each of our crematoriums has a beautifully landscaped garden that is designed to welcome natural wildlife and provide a tranquil sanctuary to visit and reflect at any time.
