We see the slick adverts on the telly, but do we really know what they say is what you get. Yes they deliver just what they say, and more. We have been to so many conventional funerals being in our seventies. How sad they are, so many people there in tears and heart broken. After a three hundred attended a funeral for a dear friend. We as a family knew that was not for us. Two weeks later , my fifty year old son my husband and l all took out a plan. It was very easy, with a lovely person on the end of the telephone. They explained how it worked not with high faluted, words just plain old English. They send us all the details in the post, which was just what we had been told on the telephone. We paid, and put the plans in a draw and forgot about them, not expecting to have to look at them for many years. How wrong we were, less than a year after taking them out, my now fifty one year old son suddenly died, he was alive at 3.25 died by five thirty. The shook you can't comprehend. After the usual ambulance police and coroner being called we then had to contact Distinct Cremations. We were dreading it. Was we covered it was less than a year, and we saw an empty medication bottle had he killed himself was he covered came into our minds. Yes he was covered. He had not killed himself he had a heart attack. The bottle was a red herring. But he was still no longer with us. All though the cremation arrangement's, we were kept informed. We were phone just to see how we were. Not interference, just a lovely voice on the end of the phone. All went well on the day of the cremation, we sat in the garden and talked about him, even had a laugh, it was lovely, l am not saying we didn't cry. It was very personal. And then his ashes were returned, In a lovely box. I wish my parents funeral was as lovely as my son. Maxine and the team will help you every step of the way. I trusted my son to them, and l think you can too.

Distinct Cremations made a very difficult time easy. From start to finish they have been completely professional, understanding and full of care for the family left behind. Mum had booked her cremation while ill and prepared for everything she could. This was made easy for Mum who by this time was suffering from dementia and COPD and couldn't get out.

Thank you to Kerry and everyone on the Distinct Cremations team you are wonderful ❤️ We are so very grateful.

Apologies for the long post ... I can highly recommend Distinct Cremations. The passing of my mum was and still is absolutely devasting and as it happened just before the long Easter bank holiday it meant that I couldn't make phone calls straight away, however it did give me time to fully consider who I would entrust my mum to. Although unexpected and no plans had been put in place I knew that my mum did not want a traditional funeral. Maxine at Distinct made everything so much easier, she was able to talk me through all of the things that needed to happen in a very clear and professional way whilst also being incredibly warm and caring. We opted for a family lead attended cremation with music, family eulogies and photographs and Maxine helped me to work out all of the details and timings. One of the reasons that I selected Distinct was the availability of the Westerleigh Group crematorium at Risby, which just felt like the right place for my mum and the staff at the crematorium were also wonderful. Maxine went out of her way to look after our family when I explained to her that my mums eldest grandchild had a long planned trip to Japan but would not go if it meant missing the funeral, Maxine said not to worry and that she would make it happen, she made some calls and came back to me with a date at the Chapel I requested. Having a family lead cremation made the day so much more personal and friends and family that were there have since spoken to me and have said that they did not know what to expect as they have only been to traditional funerals before but felt that it it was exactly right. To anyone going through something similar right now I would encourage you to consider this option and take the opportunity to remember your loved one in your own unique way. Following the cremation Maxine contacted me to speak about the return to me of my mums ashes, which took place a week to the day after. I received a phone call on that day to let me know that they were 15 minutes away. A lovely lady called Sophie brought my mum back to me, it may seem strange to mention but Sophie was driving a quality vehicle with tinted windows, was dressed very professionally and was also very kind, she would probably have come in for a cup of tea if I had asked her. The following day (a Saturday) Maxine called me to make sure everything was OK and if there was anything else I needed, quite honestly I felt like asking her for her mobile number as it felt strange to say goodbye to her at that point. When things have settled a little more I will be contacting Distinct to arrange a pre-paid plan for myself so that I know my children will be in safe hands. Thank you Distinct for your professional and caring support at a most awful time!

The help and support I received from Distinct Cremations was excellent in helping me with the arrangements for my sister. They kept me involved every step of the way, their communications was second to nine. Finally, all the staff were very nice, helpful and empathetic. I cannot recommend them enough.
