If you’ve lost your plan documents, all you need to do is get back in touch with us and we can arrange for replacements to be sent out to you.

For plans payable over 5 or 10 years we incur additional administration expenses for collecting the monthly instalments and for the purchase and administration of a “whole of life” policy from Scottish Friendly - an authorised and regulated insurance provider. If you die after 12 months of the start of your funeral plan, but before you have paid all your instalments, there is nothing more to pay.

With Distinct Cremations, it will take approximately 2-4 weeks to arrange the funeral. This includes the completion of the necessary paperwork and the cremation itself. Once the cremation has taken place, the ashes can be scattered in the crematorium garden of remembrance or personally returned by our team within 14 days.

There are lots of things you can do with the ashes. Many people scatter ashes in a place that was special to the deceased, some keep them in an urn as a keepsake and others have recently started to have ashes turned into jewellery or glass.

When taking out one of our [location] funeral plans, it's completely understandable to want the security that your money is being looked after and the assurance that your funeral will go ahead. Our direct cremations are unattended cremations which take place without mourners present. However, we do offer a Funeral Service with a choice of a 30 or 60 minute service. You can also choose to have the service led by the family or a professional celebrant.

The Westerleigh Group are the parent company of Distinct Cremations. Together, we are one of the UK’s largest cremation providers. The Westerleigh Group have owned and managed a network of private crematoria within the UK for over 30 years.

Last year, 22% of all funerals were unattended funerals without mourners present. 2% of funerals were direct burials and 20% of funerals were direct cremations. Direct cremations especially have risen in popularity in recent years as in 2019 they accounted for just 3% of funerals.[1]

Tracy was excellent. Arranging and buying a cremation for yourself is quite an emotional act and Tracy was so understanding and patient. I thought I knew what option I wanted from the start but she was willing to explain other options to me. I never felt that I was being coerced into making a decision. In fact she suggested I mull over it for a few days first. Once I had confirmed my choice Tracy was kind enough to arrange that my cremation will be held at Westerleigh. I know the place and it is comforting to me now to know where I will end up. Tracy agreed to send me a hard copy of my cremation details as well as the email confirmation and to call me ten days after my payment, which she did. Excellent service and thank you very much.

Amazing service from the start. Dad already had his plan in place, this company demonstrated excellent customer service from the start of my difficult phone call. They always referred to my father as 'dad' and kept me well informed all from obtaining the death certificate, layed to rest, collection to cremation and arranged delivery of ashes on a day it suited me. Excellent service, I would highly recommend. We are both going to sort out our plans after Christmas.

Anyone who has lost someone they love deeply will understand how difficult it can be to arrange a fitting farewell to them. Right from the beginning Distinct Cremation were outstanding in their thoughtfulness and kindness and swiftly dealt with any requests from us. Everyone I spoke to was more than helpful and in particular Grace and Alice. Nothing was a problem to them and I felt that they were always just a call away. My family members were greeted with compassion at the Crematorium and the excellent team there had been briefed properly by Distinct Cremation about our wishes. The ceremony was greatly comforting for us all. From myself and my family I thank you everyone at Distinct Cremation.

I had been thinking of planning my funeral for a while but couldn't afford it. I'd seen an advert for distinct cremations and went for it, I applied online (so easy to do) and spread the cost over 5 years. So now my family doesn't have to plan anything or find silly amounts of money. Best thing I've done in a few years. Thank you distinct cremations.

From the start to the finish of my husbands journey was excellent. The staff gave their condolences and empathy. I received David's ashes from a very nice sympathetic gentleman who had travelled quite some distance to deposit them at my house I was very grateful. The cost of the cremation could not be better at this time. It gave me a chance to make other arrangement later. I have therefor made arrangements at the church followed by a celebration of his life at the local hotel.
